Plan with the right time horizon
For plans far ahead, compare seasonal conditions and daylight. Check a local weather forecast closer to departure, then review its hourly detail and official warnings. Monthly averages cannot tell you whether a particular day will be dry, calm or snowy.
A changing climate
As the climate changes, familiar patterns of temperature, rainfall and snow can shift. Historical averages provide a reference, not a guarantee for future years. Climate projections describe possible longer-term changes under stated assumptions; they do not predict the weather on your selected day.
Explore climate and future conditionsWhat the numbers mean
Weather values use available forecast data for the selected date. Climate values are historical monthly means for the stated reference period and location. Daylight comes from astronomical calculations. These describe different things and are labelled separately; missing data are not replaced with invented daily forecasts.
Sources and methodQuestions about the weather calendar
Can the weather be predicted for a date years ahead?
No reliable daily weather forecast is available that far ahead. The calendar uses monthly climate references and calculated daylight for context. A date receives forecast values only when actual forecast data cover that date.
Will the information change as the date approaches?
Yes. When the date enters the available forecast period, weather forecast values can be shown. Forecasts may then change with later updates. Historical monthly references remain background information and do not become observations of that day.
