NordicMeteo keeps everyday weather browsing simple. The core website has no accounts, newsletter, advertising trackers or analytics trackers. This does not mean that no personal data is processed.
Who is responsible?
Internet Ideas, Zwolle, is responsible for personal data processed through NordicMeteo. Contact info@olphy.com with privacy questions or requests.
Visits, searches and security
Our hosting and security providers process connection information, such as IP address, requested page, time and browser information, to deliver and protect the service. Searches are processed to find the place you request. Our legal basis for necessary operation and security is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website. Logs are kept only for as long as necessary to diagnose faults, investigate abuse and meet applicable legal obligations.
Your location
Location is requested only when you choose to use it and grant browser permission. Coordinates are used to find a nearby listed place; the associated request is handled by our server. You can search manually instead and withdraw location permission in your browser. We do not create a location history or user profile.
Weather data and optional maps
Forecasts and cached radar images are retrieved by our server. Fonts use your device and our photograph is hosted with the website. WeatherScope is an optional external map: it is not loaded until you choose to open it. Loading it connects your browser to that provider, which receives connection information including your IP address. Its privacy and cookie rules then apply. Any nonessential tracking requires the applicable consent; opening a map is not permission for unrelated advertising.
Messages and retention
If you email us, we use your address and message to answer and resolve your request, based on our legitimate interest in providing support. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter and any related legal obligations. Do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.
Recipients and your rights
Hosting, security and email providers may process data to provide these services. Optional external services may process data outside the EEA under their own published arrangements. We do not sell personal data. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email info@olphy.com. You may also complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or your local data protection authority.
Changes and additional services
This notice describes the core NordicMeteo service. Additional services enabled by the operator must be described in the supplementary information on this page, including relevant providers, purposes, transfers and retention. Material changes to processing require an updated notice and, where required, a new choice.
